'Burdett' style fuses jazz from the 40's to art song and gypsy blending songs effortlessly in five languages that tap into deep veins of emotion.
British Columbia chanteuse, Cari Burdett, performs a timeless, genre-defying,
european fusion of opera, folk, jazz and world music. Burdett cites Edith Piaf, Joni Mitchell, Lhasa De Sela, Nina Simone, Maureen Forrester, Mecedes Sosa, Rhiannon Giddens as inuences. Her live show is musically moving from language to language, features her original compositions and sensual songs that express the vulnerable heart. The show is theatrical, virtuosic and at times impromptu.
