Cari Burdett’s rich alto voice stirs the heart as she takes the audience around the world through song

If your audience likes Lhasa de Sela, Mercedes Sosa, Ute Lemper, Edith Piaf, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, they will love Cari Burdett’s Magnolia Concert. 

Burdett coined the phrase ‘Dramatic Gypsy Cabaret to describe her vibrant, fusion of World, Jazz, Cabaret and Opera. She sings in numerous European languages captivating audiences with her vibrant theatrical air. 

Cari’s program draws from her debut album Magnolia (nominated for Best World Music - 2015 West Canadian Music Awards). Your audience will love her version of classics such as Edith Piaf’s “Le Vie en Rose” and Kurt Weill’s sensual “Je Ne T’aime Pas.”  

Other songs include “Quante Stelle,” sung in Italian from the perspective of a woman who tends her unrequited love like a precious bud; “Loveliness” Anne Schaefer’s divine song about falling in love all over again; “Toy” by Anna Hostman; and, “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell.

Adrian Dolan: Adrian Dolan is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Victoria, best known for his work with the award-winning roots ensemble, The Bills, over the past decade. His skills as a violinist, fiddler, pianist and accordionist have landed him on stage with some of the best in the business. With a passion for composing, education and leading a new generation of folk music into the 21st century, Adrian is "Unquestionably one of Canada's very finest fiddlers" - Steve Edge, Rogue Folk Club, Vancouver.
Adrian currently performs with Ruth Moody (The Wailin' Jennys), and has also toured and recorded with a wide array of artists including BCCMA winner Ridley Bent, The Arrogant Worms, Irish legends, The Chieftains, Raffi, Barney Bentall, Old Man Luedecke, and Cape Breton's Rankin Sisters.

Richard Moody: A veteran of the Canadian music scene, and considered by some as an underground legend, violinist Richard Moody has delved into almost every style a string player can try. Richard's musical interests lie mainly in improvisation, drawing from and combining the many styles and techniques he has learned in his extensive  musical travels. Richard has performed and recorded with a variety of prominent artists, including Jane Siberry and Joel Fafard, and is currently a member of the Juno nominated band The Bills. Most recently he plays with The Wailin' Jennys and his new due Moody-Amiri.
