My background includes training in group facilitation, somatic

practices, bodywork, community conflict work, and non-profit

governance. As well as decades in men's circles, I have also run

a group home and been a tow truck driver.

I support men on the gentle (and sometimes fierce) journey of

self-acceptance so that we can better serve the well-being of

our loved ones and the earth from a foundation of real care for

ourselves. Curiosity and gratitude together with a deep respect

and empathy for the experience of others, supports me in

helping create and sustain group spaces in which everyone's

truth is welcome and can be safely held. I listen to the wisdom

of our hearts and bodies as intelligent guides.

Dancing, climbing, cold rivers and wet forests are how I

recharge and settle. As a father, divorcee, partner and friend to

a menagerie of animals and a few humans, my life is filled with

opportunities, challenges and gratitude.

Penny Fenske MA, RCC (ACS-provisional)

Working in private practice since 2009, in Victoria and recently

on Salt Spring Island, I offer counselling from an attachment

perspective that is emotion focused and body-based. My

education, research, and practice have focused

understanding deeply and responding compassionately while

supporting resilience in those who have experienced trauma

and relationship ruptures. When I facilitate circles, I lean on my

advanced AEDP training, in-depth group facilitation training,

attunement, somatic resonance, intuition and curiosity to

offer questions, prompts, or reflection to deepen your process

and connection to yourself and others.

When I am not engaged with my work, you will find me in my

sanctuary, the forest. I love to hike the forests, mountains, and

ocean trails with Atlas, my adopted miniature poodle/co-

therapist; tend my permaculture food forest; restore the forest

on the land where I live; split wood; do yin yoga; listen to music

that moves my soul; dance; and share time with friends and

family.

As I hold space for you, I will receive every aspect of you and

your journey with authenticity, warmth, empathy, and dignity.
